On the occasion of the six hundredth anniversary of the founding of the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, one of the oldest academic institutions in Europe, the Philatelic and Postal Service of the Governorate of the Vatican City State has chosen to pay tribute to this historic cultural landmark with the issue of a commemorative stamp and a special postmark.
The Postal and Philately Service (a member of PostEurop since 2012) of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate took part in the 41st General Assembly of PostEurop, with a delegation composed of the Head of Service, Rev. Felice Bruno, and the Service official, Vincenzo Marrese. The meeting took place from October 7 to 9 in Tirana, Albania.
