Postal and Philatelic Service of the Governorate: Folder, commemorative envelopes and special postal cancellation for Christmas 2025

On the occasion of the Solemnity of Christmas 2025, the Postal and Philatelic Service of the Governorate of Vatican City State will issue a pair of commemorative envelopes, also available inside a dedicated limited-edition folder.

The issue date is scheduled for 25 December 2025.

On commemorative envelope PV/146A, the cachet reproduces a detail of the Adoration of the Shepherds, a tapestry preserved in the Vatican Museums, derived from a cartoon by the School of Raphael.

The envelope is franked with the €1.30 stamp from the “Christmas MMXXV” series, issued on 7 November 2025.

Commemorative envelope PV/146B features a cachet depicting a detail of the Adoration of the Shepherds, a Vatican Museums tapestry based on a cartoon by the School of Raphael.

It is franked with the €1.35 stamp from the “Natale MMXXV” series, issued on 7 November 2025.

A special postal cancellation will also be available. The design of the cancellation depicts a detail of the Flemish tapestry Adoration of the Shepherds, preserved in the Vatican Museums, showing the Child in the manger.

The cancellation carries the inscriptions:

“Santo Natale MMXXV – 25 Dicembre 2025” and “Poste Vaticane””.

The illustrated folder contains a pair of commemorative envelopes.

The cost of the pair of commemorative envelopes is €6.00, or €15.00 if purchased in the illustrated folder.

The folders may be purchased at Vatican Post offices within the State, such as the one located in St Peter’s Square. Online purchases will be reserved for subscribers registered with the Philatelic and Numismatic Marketing Service (website https://www.cfn.va/it/).
